Job summary

Private Advertiser is seeking a Construction Manager based in Alor Star, Kedah to oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion, including bridge, roadworks and geotechnical works.

The role requires a Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering with at least 10 years of experience and strong knowledge of construction management processes. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Project is desirable. You will lead teams, manage risks, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years' working experience in the construction industry.
• Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods.
• Familiarity with construction management software packages (AutoCAD, Microsoft Project).
• Understanding of all facets of the construction process.
• Ability to plan and see the big picture.
• Leadership and human resources management skills.
• Excellent time and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing and directing construction projects from conception to completion.
• Reviewing the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs.
• Overseeing all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations.
• Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors.
• Select tools, materials and equipment and track inventory.
• Review the work progress on daily basis.
• Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status.
• Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones.
• Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licenses.
• Analyse, manage and mitigate risks.
