Job summary

Uemedgenta in Sarawak is seeking a Civil Engineer for a contract role focused on road construction and bridges. You will collaborate with the Construction Manager to monitor progress, evaluate technical issues, and prepare reports for approval by the Superintendent Officer.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and at least 5 years of relevant field experience, with strong communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• At least 5 years of working experience in road construction and bridges.
• Understanding of civil engineering principles and maintenance practices.
• Knowledge of relevant engineering software and tools.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Construction Manager to update, evaluate, and submit JKRS Dashboard and Monthly Progress Report.
• Assist in stakeholder engagement activities with client, Local Authorities, and local community.
• Work with the Construction Manager to assess contractual matters and provide recommendations for approval by the Superintendent Officer.
• Assist in assessing proposals from Contract Department and submit recommendations for approval by JKR Sarawak.
• Support site discussions and attend site meetings to address construction-related issues.
• Verify contractor work and submit progress claims for SO approval.
• Assist in assessing and verifying documents provided by the Contractor for readiness.
• Verify work program and monitor progress both physically and financially.
