Job summary

BELTIUM CONTRUCTION SDN BHD in Alor Setar, Kedah is seeking a Construction Manager (based in Alor Star) to lead projects from concept to completion, including bridges, roads and geotechnical works. This full-time on-site role requires Diploma/ Degree in Civil Engineering, 10 years’ experience, proven construction management skills, and the ability to plan, coordinate crews and manage risks.

Salary RM7,000–RM9,000 per month with benefits such as free parking, health insurance and opportunities

Qualifications

• Diploma/ Degree in Civil Engineering or its equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years' working experience in the construction industry with good knowledge in bridge, roadworks and geotechnical works.
• Proven working experience in construction management.
• Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods.
• Familiarity with construction management software packages (Autocad, Microsoft Project)
• Understanding of all facets of the construction process
• Ability to plan and see the "big picture"
• Conflict and crisis management leadership
• Excellent time and project management skills
• Willing to start work immediately.

Responsibilities

• Clear understanding of construction drawings
• Overseeing and directing construction projects from conception to completion
• Reviewing the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs
• Overseeing all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations
• Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors
• Select tools, materials and equipment and track inventory
• Meet contractual conditions of performance
• Review the work progress on daily basis
• Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status
• Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones
• Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licenses
• Analyse, manage and mitigate risks
• Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques
