Axonect in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Senior Cloud FinOps professional to monitor and optimize cloud spending across AWS, Microsoft, VMware, and SaaS licenses. You will develop cost dashboards, forecast financials, and drive cost-optimization initiatives across engineering and procurement teams.

The role requires 4+ years in cloud FinOps or cost optimization, strong analytics, and hands-on experience with Power BI and Excel for financial reporting.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 4+ years of Cloud FinOps, cloud operations, software licensing, or technology cost optimization.
• Strong understanding of cloud pricing models and cost management practices.
• Experience with Power BI and advanced Excel for reporting.
• Familiarity with procurement, vendor management and enterprise agreements.

Responsabilidades

• Monitor and manage cloud expenditure across AWS, Microsoft, VMware, software subscriptions, and other tech services.
• Identify and drive cost optimization opportunities through rightsizing, storage optimization, and license consolidation.
• Monitor usage, billing, cost allocation, and tagging across dev, test, and prod environments.
• Develop and maintain cost dashboards, forecasts, and management summaries using Power BI or Excel.
• Analyze spending trends, detect anomalies, and recommend improvements to financial efficiency.
• Collaborate with Cloud Engineering, Architecture, Finance, Procurement, and Software teams to optimize spend.
• Support sourcing activities, including RFI, RFQ, and RFP processes.
• Assist in managing enterprise licenses, subscriptions, and vendor relationships.
• Support cloud budgeting, predictive cost modelling, governance, and compliance initiatives.
• Contribute to cost management automation and measurable savings initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage cloud expenditure across AWS, Microsoft, VMware, software subscriptions, and other technology services


• Identify and drive cost optimization opportunities through resource rightsizing, storage optimization, scheduled shutdowns, license consolidation, and removal of unused resources


• Monitor cloud usage, billing, cost allocation, and tagging compliance across development, testing, and production environments


• Develop and maintain cost dashboards, financial reports, forecasts, and management summaries using Power BI, Excel, or equivalent tools


• Analyze spending trends, identify cost anomalies, and recommend improvements to cloud financial efficiency


• Collaborate with Cloud Engineering, Architecture, Finance, Procurement, and Software Engineering teams to optimize technology spending


• Support sourcing and procurement activities, including RFI, RFQ, and RFP processes


• Assist in managing enterprise agreements, software licenses, subscriptions, and vendor relationships


• Support cloud budgeting, predictive cost modelling, financial governance, and compliance initiatives


• Contribute to cost management automation and initiatives that deliver measurable savings

Person Specifications

• Bachelor's degree, postgraduate diploma, or professional qualification in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or a related field


• 4+ years of relevant experience in Cloud FinOps, cloud operations, software licensing, subscription management, or technology cost optimization


• Strong understanding of AWS services, cloud pricing models, and cost management practices, including Reserved Instances and Savings Plans


• Experience with cloud financial reporting, forecasting, cost allocation, and tools such as Power BI and advanced Excel


• Familiarity with infrastructure technologies, including servers, networking, databases, storage, cloud automation, and DevOps practices


• Understanding of procurement and sourcing processes, including RFI, RFQ, and RFP, as well as vendor and enterprise agreement management


• Knowledge of financial governance, audit, security, compliance, and cost control practices


• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills


• Experience in financial services or regulated environments is advantageous
