Job summary

Intramiles Sdn Bhd in Malaysia seeks a Senior Chemist / Assistant Manager to lead the development of skincare and personal care formulations for OEM/ODM customers, from concept to commercial production. You will collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Production and Purchasing to ensure products are safe, effective and of high quality, while adhering to NPRA, ASEAN Directives, GMP and Halal requirements.

A hands-on leader with 3–5 years in R&D/formulation is preferred, capable of driving projects

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree relevant to chemistry, cosmetic science or related field.
• 3–5 years of R&D/formulation experience in skincare/cosmetics/personal care manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience in formulation development, sample prep and product optimisation.
• Good understanding of cosmetic raw materials and formulation principles.
• Experience with NPRA, ASEAN Cosmetic Directive and GMP.
• Experience with Halal requirements and cosmetic product documentation such as PIF, SDS, TDS and INCI.

Responsibilities

• Develop, modify and optimise skincare and personal care formulations based on customer requirements and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare laboratory samples, prototypes and conduct product benchmarking for new product development.
• Evaluate new raw materials for formulation performance, stability and suitability.
• Support pilot trials and commercial production, including troubleshooting formulation and manufacturing issues.
• Work closely with Production and QC to ensure products meet quality, performance and manufacturing requirements.
• Plan and monitor stability and packaging compatibility studies, and recommend formulation improvements based on results.
• Prepare and maintain key R&D and product documentation (Formula Records, Specifications, Stability Records, SDS, TDS, PIF, INCI).
• Support NPRA, ASEAN Cosmetic Directive, GMP and Halal compliance for product development and documentation.
• Assist with customer complaints, product investigations and corrective actions related to formulation or product quality.

In this role, you will lead the development of innovative skincare and personal care products for our OEM/ODM customers, from concept to commercial production. You will work closely with Sales, Marketing, Production, and Purchasing teams to ensure products are safe, effective, high quality and ready for market.

Key responsibilities

About you

Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Pharmaceutical Science, Chemical Engineering or a related field.

3–5 years of relevant R&D/formulation experience, preferably in skincare, cosmetics or personal care manufacturing.

Hands-on experience in formulation development, sample preparation and product optimisation.

Good understanding of cosmetic raw materials, ingredients and formulation principles.

Experience supporting stability testing, product evaluation and troubleshooting.

Familiarity with GMP and cosmetic regulatory requirements, particularly NPRA and ASEAN Cosmetic Directive.

Good technical documentation and record-keeping skills.

Experience with Halal requirements and cosmetic product documentation such as PIF, SDS, TDS and INCI.

Experience in developing products such as facial care, body care, hair care, cleansing or other personal care products.

Knowledge of stability testing protocols.
