Job summary

FINELAB COSMECEUTICALS SDN BHD is seeking a formulation scientist to develop new cosmetic and personal care products in response to company or client requirements. You will run laboratory trials, perform formulation experiments, and optimize existing formulas for quality, stability, texture, fragrance, colour, and cost efficiency.

You will test raw materials and finished products, evaluate alternative ingredients, and assist in transferring successful formulations to pilot and production scales

Responsibilities

• Develop new cosmetic and personal care formulations based on company or customer requirements.
• Conduct laboratory trials and formulation experiments for new products.
• Improve existing formulations to enhance product quality, stability, performance, texture, fragrance, colour, and cost effectiveness.
• Conduct physical and chemical testing of raw materials, bulk products, and finished products.
• Evaluate new raw materials and alternative ingredients for product development.
• Work with Purchasing and suppliers to identify suitable raw materials.
• Assist in transferring laboratory formulations to pilot and production scale and provide technical support during production trials.
• Troubleshoot formulation or production issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure formulations and R&D activities comply with applicable cosmetic regulations and company quality requirements.
• Work closely with QA/QC to ensure products meet established specifications.
• Investigate product complaints or formulation-related issues together with QA/QC and Production.
• Follow company SOPs, GMP requirements, and safety procedures.
