- Location: Kuala Lumpur or Malaysia-based, with regular travels.

- Employment: Full-time, permanent.
- Open to Malaysian citizens and permanent residents.
- Expected start date: January or February 2027
ABOUT THE COMPANY
Our client is a Singapore-headquartered hospitality technology company with a cloud property management platform built for independent hotels and small groups. The company is small, profitable-minded and founder-led, and this is its first dedicated sales hire. You will be the person who owns Malaysia and the surrounding markets.
THE ROLE
This is a hunter role in a relationship-driven market. You will sell directly to hotel owners and general managers, from first conversation to signed licence, with the support team handling demos, onboarding and pre-sales questions when you need them.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Build and own a pipeline of boutique, mid-size and small-chain hotels, starting from your existing relationships
- Run the full sales cycle with owners and GMs: discovery, demo (with support from the product team), proposal, negotiation and signature
- Work the industry: conferences, hotel association events, and referrals from current customers
- Keep an accurate pipeline and forecast, and report weekly to the founder
- Bring market feedback (pricing, competitors, feature requests) back to the product team
- Over time, extend into other SEA markets, and into regional chains
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- 5+ years of sales or business development experience, with hotels as your customers
- An active network of hotel owners and general managers in Malaysia, built in a role selling to hotels: hospitality technology (PMS, channel manager, booking engine, revenue tools), online travel agencies, hotel payments, or hotel supplies and services
- Named properties you have personally signed, and references who will confirm them
- A track record of hitting a new-business target on your own, without an SDR or inbound engine
- Working knowledge of hotel operations (front office, reservations, housekeeping, distribution), enough to talk to a GM as a peer
- Comfortable learning a software product and demoing it yourself
- Malaysian citizen or permanent resident, based in Malaysia and able to travel regularly
Strong advantages
- Experience at a PMS, channel manager or hotel distribution company, or as a market manager at an online travel agency
- Relationships with hotels in Singapore, Sabah, Sarawak or Thailand
- Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin in addition to English
- Experience as the first or only salesperson in a market
This role is probably not for you if
- You have sold software but never to hotels, and would need a year to build the relationships
- You want an inbound-led role with marketing and SDR support
- Screening call with High Five Solutions
- Two interviews with the company's senior commercial leader
- Reference checks on named properties
WHAT WE OFFER
- Competitive base salary, plus uncapped commission on every property you sign, paid in year one and again in year two
- A monthly travel allowance for local travel
- Equity participation linked to sales targets
- The first sales seat in a growing company, reporting directly to the founder, with real say in how the market is built
