Job summary

BEWG in Malaysia is seeking a dedicated BIM Coordinator to lead BIM execution across projects, ensuring deliverables are properly planned, coordinated, and completed on time.

You will develop and maintain BEP, BIM workflows, modelling procedures, and coordination requirements, while auditing models for accuracy and consistency. The role includes mentoring junior staff and staying current with BIM advances.

Qualifications

• Diploma, advanced diploma, or degree in BIM, MEP, engineering, architecture, construction, or related field.
• Proven experience in BIM coordination and modelling within multidisciplinary environments.
• Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit and BIM standards.
• Experience with Navisworks and ACC/BIM 360 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead BIM coordination meetings with design engineers, consultants, and contractors.
• Develop and maintain BEP, BIM workflows, templates, and file structures.
• Audit BIM models for accuracy, completeness, and conformity to standards.

Job Specification

Lead and coordinate BIM execution activities across assigned projects and ensure BIM deliverables are properly planned, coordinated, and completed within the required timelines.

Develop, implement, and maintain project-specific BIM Execution Plans (BEP), BIM workflows, modelling procedures, and coordination requirements where applicable.

Monitor compliance with company BIM standards, project requirements, industry practices, and client requirements.

Proactively identify BIM-related risks, including model incompatibility, coordination gaps, modelling inconsistencies, workflow bottlenecks, and information management issues, and implement appropriate mitigation measures.

Develop, maintain, and continuously improve company BIM standards, protocols, modelling guidelines, templates, families, and workflows.

Review, audit, and validate BIM models to ensure accuracy, completeness, consistency, and compliance with project requirements.

Organise and lead BIM coordination meetings with Design Engineers, consultants, contractors, Project Managers, and other relevant stakeholders.

Undertake advanced BIM modelling and coordination work using Revit and other relevant BIM software.

Develop and implement structured training and mentoring plans for junior BIM Coordinators, BIM Modellers, and drafting personnel.

Keep up to date with BIM industry developments, emerging technologies, software updates, and best practices.

Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Degree, or equivalent qualification in BIM, MEP Engineering, Engineering, Architecture, Construction, or a related discipline.

Relevant working experience inBIM coordination, BIM modelling, or a related role, with strong practical experience in multidisciplinary BIM environments.

Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit, with solid BIM modelling and coordination capabilities.

Strong experience in Revit Family creation, modification, and management.

Knowledge of Navisworks and experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) / BIM 360 are preferred.

Ability to produce and review BIM drawings, including General Arrangement (GA) drawings, sections, detailed drawings, coordination drawings, and other BIM-related documentation.

Good command of English, both written and spoken, for technical communication, documentation, and coordination purposes.

Mandarin / Chinese proficiency is preferred to facilitate communication and coordination with Chinese-speaking team members and stakeholders.

Good understanding of BIM modelling methodologies, standards, workflows, and multidisciplinary coordination processes.

Strong ability to review, audit, and identify issues within BIM models, including modelling errors, coordination gaps, inconsistencies, and incomplete information.

Ability to accurately interpret and implement engineering mark-ups and translate technical requirements into accurate BIM models and drawings.

Demonstrated ability to guide, mentor, and develop junior BIM Modellers, BIM Coordinators, and drafting personnel, with good communication and interpersonal skills.

Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead coordination discussions and communicate technical matters clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
