Job summary

BEWG (M) Sdn. Bhd in Malaysia is seeking a senior BIM Coordinator to lead and coordinate BIM execution across multiple projects.

You will develop BEP, drive Revit modelling and clash coordination, mentor junior staff, and ensure compliance with standards and client requirements. Strong English is essential; Mandarin proficiency is a plus and Navisworks/ACC-BIM 360 experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Advanced Diploma/ Degree in BIM, MEP Engineering, Engineering, Architecture, Construction, or related discipline.
• Relevant working experience in BIM coordination, BIM modelling, or related role with strong practical experience in multidisciplinary BIM environments.
• Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit, with solid BIM modelling and coordination capabilities.
• Strong experience in Revit Family creation, modification, and management.
• Knowledge of Navisworks and experience with ACC/BIM 360 is preferred.
• Ability to produce and review BIM drawings, including GA drawings, sections, detailed drawings, and coordination drawings.
• Good command of English, and Mandarin proficiency is preferred to facilitate communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead BIM execution activities across projects and ensure deliverables are planned and completed on time.
• Develop, implement, and maintain BEP, BIM workflows, modelling procedures, and coordination requirements.
• Monitor compliance with BIM standards, project requirements, and client standards.
• Identify BIM risks and implement mitigation measures.
• Develop and improve BIM standards, templates, families, and workflows.
• Review, audit, and validate BIM models for accuracy and completeness.
• Organise BIM coordination meetings with engineers, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Undertake advanced modelling and coordination using Revit and related software.
• Develop training plans for junior BIM staff and ensure knowledge transfer.
• Keep up to date with BIM industry developments and software updates.

Job description

Lead and coordinate BIM execution activities across assigned projects and ensure BIM deliverables are properly planned, coordinated, and completed within the required timelines.

Develop, implement, and maintain project-specific BIM Execution Plans (BEP), BIM workflows, modelling procedures, and coordination requirements where applicable.

Monitor compliance with company BIM standards, project requirements, industry practices, and client requirements.

Proactively identify BIM-related risks, including model incompatibility, coordination gaps, modelling inconsistencies, workflow bottlenecks, and information management issues, and implement appropriate mitigation measures.

Develop, maintain, and continuously improve company BIM standards, protocols, modelling guidelines, templates, families, and workflows.

Review, audit, and validate BIM models to ensure accuracy, completeness, consistency, and compliance with project requirements.

Organise and lead BIM coordination meetings with Design Engineers, consultants, contractors, Project Managers, and other relevant stakeholders.

Undertake advanced BIM modelling and coordination work using Revit and other relevant BIM software.

Develop and implement structured training and mentoring plans for junior BIM Coordinators, BIM Modellers, and drafting personnel.

Keep up to date with BIM industry developments, emerging technologies, software updates, and best practices.

Job Specification

Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Degree, or equivalent qualification in BIM, MEP Engineering, Engineering, Architecture, Construction, or a related discipline.

Relevant working experience in BIM coordination, BIM modelling, or a related role, with strong practical experience in multidisciplinary BIM environments.

Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit, with solid BIM modelling and coordination capabilities.

Strong experience in Revit Family creation, modification, and management.

Knowledge of Navisworks and experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) / BIM 360 are preferred.

Ability to produce and review BIM drawings, including General Arrangement (GA) drawings, sections, detailed drawings, coordination drawings, and other BIM-related documentation.

Good command of English, both written and spoken, for technical communication, documentation, and coordination purposes.

Mandarin / Chinese proficiency is preferred to facilitate communication and coordination with Chinese-speaking team members and stakeholders.

Good understanding of BIM modelling methodologies, standards, workflows, and multidisciplinary coordination processes.

Strong ability to review, audit, and identify issues within BIM models, including modelling errors, coordination gaps, inconsistencies, and incomplete information.

Ability to accurately interpret and implement engineering mark-ups and translate technical requirements into accurate BIM models and drawings.

Demonstrated ability to guide, mentor, and develop junior BIM Modellers, BIM Coordinators, and drafting personnel, with good communication and interpersonal skills.

Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead coordination discussions and communicate technical matters clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Willing to undertake other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned by management from time to time.
