Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead bakery operations and ensure quality across teams. You will independently develop SOPs, plan daily/weekly production, manage ovens and equipment, and optimize manpower to meet targets with minimal waste.

The role demands hands-on leadership, ability to schedule and train at least 3 key team members, and strong focus on efficiency and safety in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in the bakery industry.
• 3+ years of production team management experience.
• Proven experience managing a production team of 10+ people.

Responsibilities

• Production Planning: Develop and execute daily and weekly production plans based on sales forecasts, inventory levels and store requirements.
• Production Operations: Oversee the bakery production process to ensure products are produced on time and to brand standards.
• Quality Control: Maintain strict product quality and ensure SOPs are followed, correcting deviations.
• SOP Development & Improvement: Develop and improve production SOPs for consistent results across bakers.
• Capacity Management: Adjust plans, manpower and equipment as demand changes, including peak periods.
• Raw Material & Wastage Control: Monitor usage, wastage and yield to improve cost efficiency.
• Equipment Management: Manage ovens and key bakery equipment and respond to issues promptly.
• Manpower & Shift Planning: Allocate team members and shifts for efficient utilization.
• Team Training & Development: Lead hands-on training and develop key members for critical roles.
• Production Performance Management: Track output, yield and wastage to boost productivity and quality.
• Food Safety & Hygiene: Ensure compliance with safety and hygiene standards and take corrective actions.
• Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement: Own production issues and implement effective improvements.
• Cross-Department Collaboration: Work with operations, purchasing and management to adjust plans.
• New Store & Project Support: Assist store openings, launches and system setup, including training.
