Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a Chief Baker to lead the bakery kitchen with end-to-end responsibility for product, people, inventory, safety, and compliance. This role remains hands-on with the team and requires strong leadership and hands-on execution on the floor.

The ideal candidate has 5–8 years in bakery/culinary fields, at least 3 years in staff management, and relevant baking certifications or diplomas. Health and safety focus is essential for daily operations.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of experience in a related bakery/culinary field.
• At least 3 years of experience in staff management.
• Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Diploma in Baking, Pastry Arts, or Culinary Arts preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own the quality and presentation of all baked goods before display.
• Plan stock levels and monitor FIFO to avoid shortages/overstock.
• Lead and schedule staff, monitor performance, and cover gaps.
• Enforce outlet SOPs for baking temperatures and times.
• Maintain cleaning SOP and food safety practices per standards.
• Train new joiners and identify talent for development.
• Communicate with management and outlet manager promptly.
• Work hands-on on the floor alongside the team.
