Job summary

Standard Chartered Global Business Services in Malaysia is seeking a BackEnd Developer with 6+ years of experience to design, develop and deliver microservice APIs in Java within an agile team. You will write user stories, test cases, and ensure production readiness through end-to-end ownership.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in microservice API development using Java frameworks.
• Experience developing REST and SOAP APIs.
• Strong administration and development skills for API integration with in-house and third-party applications including Trading Networks.
• Hands-on experience in a docker-based environment – Kubernetes or OpenShift.
• Experience driving changes through discovery, coding, configuration, testing, documentation, review, packaging and production deployment.
• Experience in performance tuning and load testing using tools like JMeter.
• Familiarity with Agile practices and ability to coach teams on best practices.
• Banking domain experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain microservice APIs in Java frameworks.
• Design, implement and test REST and SOAP APIs.
• Integrate APIs with in-house and third-party systems including Trading Networks.
• Work in a Docker-based environment with Kubernetes/OpenShift.
• Lead end-to-end delivery from discovery to production deployment.
• Tune performance and conduct load testing (e.g., with JMeter).
• Advise on Agile practices and help foster best practices within the team.
