Standard Chartered Global Business Services in Malaysia is seeking a BackEnd Developer with 6+ years of experience to design, develop and deliver microservice APIs in Java within an agile team. You will write user stories, test cases, and ensure production readiness through end-to-end ownership.

We are seeking talented and motivated individuals for the role of BackEnd Developer. Successful candidates will be experienced programmers who can develop user stories, develop test cases, break down, design, and develop solutions in an environment with constant collaborative discussions. They will be matured individuals who are comfortable working in an agile environment with critical peer reviews of design and code.
They must be able to offer constructive critical reviews of other’s designs and code. They must be able to collaboratively work with product owners to develop use stories and test cases. They will be able to research, trial, and recommend new technologies of interest to the group.
They will have experience with taking code through testing, deployment, and production and will not have merely handed off code to QA and Production Support.

The centre provides dedicated world-class technology, software and system development, information technology support services, banking operations and customer care capabilities to businesses globally.
It now houses one of the largest software development centres in Malaysia as well as the Bank’s Collective Intelligence and Command Centre, a state-of-the‑art facility which provides situational awareness and response capability to Standard Chartered Bank and its subsidiaries using the latest technologies for monitoring and analytics. It has a total workforce of more than 4,300 employees.
Standard Chartered Global Business Services was conferred the ICT Organisation of The Year Award in 2011 by The National ICT Association of Malaysia, making it the first Global Shared Services Centre of an international bank in Malaysia to win the prestigious award. In 2014, Standard Chartered Global Business Services was awarded the Silver Award for the Employer of Choice category in the Malaysia HR Awards organised by the Malaysian Institute of Human Resource Management.
