Job summary

GXBank seeks a Senior Software Engineer, Backend in Petaling Jaya to design and implement high-performance Go services that boost availability, latency, and scalability. You will collaborate with squads to explore scalable architectures and optimize backend systems.

You will own multiple microservices, participate in code reviews, and contribute to CI/CD, cloud deployments (AWS), and performance tuning with Kafka/SQS messaging.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of backend development experience.
• Proficient in Golang or willingness to work in Go.
• Knowledge of design patterns (Singleton, Factory, etc.).
• Understanding of SOLID and clean architecture.
• Experience with HTTP REST services and messaging (Kafka/SQS).
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and Docker containers.
• Experience with cloud deployments (e.g., AWS).
• Knowledge of CI/CD concepts.
• Exposure to microservice architecture from design to deployment.

Responsibilities

• Design and write Go services to improve availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency.
• Collaborate on scalable designs and architectures aimed at performance.
• Participate in code and design reviews to maintain high standards.
• Analyze capacity, demand, and optimize software performance.
• Define and prototype feature specifications with product teams.
• Collaborate with infrastructure to scale back-end services and perform root-cause analyses.
• Design, build, analyse and fix large-scale systems.
• Engage in performance tuning across the stack.
• Debug production software and implement fixes.
• Develop features per product/engineering specs.
• Author specification documents per functional requirements.
• Mentor junior engineers on best practices.
• Own multiple microservices within the squad.
