Job summary

Standard Chartered is seeking an experienced Java developer to lead credit card system development in a Bank-scale environment. You will work within an Agile framework to design, implement, test and document system changes while guiding junior engineers and ensuring alignment with regulatory and security standards.

The role requires deep knowledge of Java ecosystems, REST APIs, Oracle/PostgreSQL databases, and Linux RedHat.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Java development with modern Java versions (Java 17/21).
• Experience with Spring Boot 3.x and RESTful services.
• Strong understanding of system design and API integration.
• Hands-on with Linux RedHat environments.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and Azure DevOps/Microsoft ADO.
• Experience in containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of Oracle or PostgreSQL databases.

Responsibilities

• Actively lead credit card system development to deliver business outcomes.
• Clarify business requirements and design solutions before coding.
• Plan development activities and establish engineering best practices.
• Ensure compliance with business goals, platform stability and scalability.
• Review junior developers' code and provide guidance.
