Job summary

MHA Consultancy Services Sdn Bhd is seeking a backend engineer to design and build scalable RESTful APIs using PHP 8.x and Laravel in Kuala Lumpur. You will architect and optimize MySQL and MongoDB schemas for high performance, while ensuring clean, testable code following OOP and PSR standards.

You will implement security best practices per OWASP, optimize queries and caching with Redis, and participate in Docker-based CI/CD pipelines. Mentorship of junior developers is expected.

Qualifications

• 3+ years backend experience with modern PHP (8.x) and Laravel.
• Solid experience with both MySQL (schema design, indexing, performance tuning) and MongoDB (document modeling, aggregation).
• Excellent system structuring, logic, and OOP/design pattern capabilities. Proficient with Docker, Git, RESTful APIs, and Linux environments.
• Strong problem-solving and technical documentation skills.
