Job summary

Robert Bosch Group in Penang, Malaysia is seeking a Senior/Staff Electronic Development Engineer to join the Bosch Cross‑Domain Computing Solutions division. The role involves collaborating on electronic design, BOM management, and defining design standards for automotive infotainment and compute modules.

You will lead hardware development, validate designs, guide engineering teams, and ensure adherence to automotive standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field.
• 5–10 years of experience in electronic hardware design and product development.
• Strong circuit design, schematic development, component selection, and troubleshooting skills.
• Hands-on product validation, EMC testing, design verification, and manufacturing support.
• FMEA, DFMA, 8D, DRBFM, and Six Sigma knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate as project team member for category B/C projects on electronic design matters and ensure delivery of quality outcomes.
• Prepare circuit diagrams for HW design to meet product specifications.
• Maintain product design electronic specifications and BOMs for category B/C projects.
• Establish a Work-Breakdown-Structure for electronic design and development.
• Evaluate electronic device designs for cost, quality, and performance improvements.
• Evaluate and recommend components for new product designs with medium innovation.
• Provide support for sample builds, troubleshooting, and issue resolution for category B/C projects.
• Prepare inputs for PAV, electrical validation test, and EMC test plans for high complexity products.
• Act as change engineer for EOL component replacements requiring major design updates.
• Review customer specs for feasibility and propose alternative solutions.
• Estimate engineering effort for electronic design including manhours, materials, travel, testing.
• Provide guidance and mentoring on automotive norms and standards (CDQ, TS16949, ISO26262).
• Lead technical training on hardware circuit design for automotive infotainment/compute devices.
• Develop organizational standards and contribute to technology roadmap definitions.
• Coordinate continuous improvement activities and participate in technical forums.
