Job summary

CTI International (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced controls engineer to evaluate processes, design robust controls architectures, and lead integration of PLC/HMI/SCADA, robotics and machine vision.

This role requires 8–12 years in factory automation, strong safety and documentation skills, and willingness to travel globally for commissioning and ramp‑up. You will mentor site engineers and support global replication with cross‑functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or diploma in mechatronics, electrical, controls, robotics or automation engineering.
• 8–12 years in factory automation, controls integration and commissioning.
• Hands-on PLC/HMI/SCADA and industrial network skills essential.
• Experience with robotics, cobots, vision and servo systems preferred.
• Strong machinery safety, fault-finding, validation, project execution and technical documentation capability.
• Experience in high–mix manufacturing is preferred, able to travel globally for commissioning and ramp support.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate manual and semiautomated processes and identify opportunity gains.
• Design controls architecture, electrical/I-O concepts, safety systems, tooling, sensors and machine-vision solutions.
• Program and integrate PLC, HMI/SCADA, motion, industrial networks, traceability and data connectivity to MES.
• Lead vendor technical reviews, FAT, SAT, risk assessment, commissioning and production ramp‑up.
• Create backups, spares strategies, preventive maintenance requirements and handover packages.
• Standardize proven designs and coach site controls engineers for global replication with EHQ, Quality and Operations.

Job description

Evaluate manual and semiautomated processes, quantity opportunities and develop URS, functional specifications and acceptance criteria.

Design controls architecture, electrical/ I-O concepts, safety systems, tooling, sensors, machine vision and robot/cobot applications.

Program and integrate PLC, HMI/ SCADA, motion, industrial networks, traceability and equipment- to- MES / data connectivity

Lead vendor technical reviews, design reviews, FAT, SAT, risk assessment, commissioning, validation and production ramp – up.

Create backups, spares strategy, preventive – maintenance requirements, troubleshooting guides and complete engineering handover packages.

Standardize proven designs, coach site controls engineers and support global replication with EHS, Quality, Engineering and Operations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Degree/ Diploma in mechatronics, electrical, controls, robotics or automation engineering.

8 – 12 years in factory automation, controls integration and commissioning.

Advanced hands – on PLC/HM/SCADA and industrial – network skills; robotics, cobots, vision ad servo experience preferred.

Strong machinery safety, fault – finding, validation, project execution and technical – documentation capability

Experience in high – mix manufacturing is preferred, able to travel globally for commissioning and ramp support.
