Greatech Integration (M) Sdn Bhd in Penang, Bayan Lepas, is seeking a maintenance engineer to oversee preventive maintenance programs and technical instruction creation. You will lead maintenance tasks, support technicians, and drive reliability improvements across production equipment.

You will analyze equipment performance, perform root-cause analysis, and collaborate with engineering, quality, and suppliers to minimize downtime and optimize maintenance processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/ Electronics/ Mechanical/ Mechatronics or related field.
• Knowledge of manufacturing equipment, automation systems, and industrial machinery.
• Experience in equipment setup, installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage preventive maintenance schedules (annual, monthly, weekly, daily).
• Create maintenance work instructions, checklists, SOPs, and troubleshooting guides.
• Identify critical equipment and define maintenance frequency; assign tasks to technicians.

Job description

• Developing the annual, monthly, weekly, and daily preventive maintenance schedule.
• Creating maintenance work instructions, checklists, SOPs, and troubleshooting guides.
• Identifying critical equipment and defining maintenance frequency.
• Assigning and monitoring maintenance tasks for technicians.
• Supporting technicians during complex maintenance and repair activities.
• Conducting root-cause analysis for repeated breakdowns and major equipment failures.
• Coordinating with Production, Quality, Engineering, EHS, and external suppliers.
• Planning spare-part requirements and supporting spare-part inventory control.
• Conducting technical training and skill development for maintenance technicians.
• Monitoring maintenance KPIs, including downtime, response time, PM completion rate, and recurring failure rate.
• Leading equipment reliability and continuous-improvement projects.
• Maintaining equipment maintenance history and technical documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Knowledge of manufacturing equipment, automation systems, and industrial machinery.
• Experience in equipment setup, installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with PLCs, sensors, servo motors, pneumatics, and robotics is an advantage.
• Ability to analyze equipment performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical documents.
• Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
• Good communication and project coordination skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Able to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
