Job summary

Hume Cement Sdn Bhd seeks an automation engineer to manage and optimize DCS, PLC, SCADA, and HMI across its cement plant in Malaysia. You will troubleshoot issues, conduct root-cause analysis, and lead system upgrades, commissioning, and shutdown activities.

You will support Industry 4.0, IIoT, and predictive maintenance, developing automation solutions with Python, SQL, MQTT, REST API, and OPC UA while maintaining documentation and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Automation engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of automation and control systems experience in cement/industrial plants.
• Hands-on experience with ABB DCS, PLC, SCADA, HMI and industrial protocols.
• Strong trouble-shooting and root-cause analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize DCS, PLC, SCADA, and HMI across production lines.
• Troubleshoot, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Lead automation projects, upgrades, commissioning, and shutdown activities.
• Support Industry 4.0, IIoT, and predictive maintenance initiatives.
• Develop automation solutions using Python, SQL, MQTT, REST API, and OPC UA.
• Prepare AutoCAD Electrical drawings and maintain docs.
• Collaborate with Production, Process, IT, and vendors to improve automation.
• Ensure safety, quality, and cybersecurity compliance.
