Job summary

Coherent Corp. is seeking a qualified candidate in Ipoh, Malaysia, to design and develop machine automation and vision systems. The role requires at least 7 years of experience in relevant engineering fields and a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.

As a team member, you will work onsite, focusing on automated processes and providing solutions for manufacturing needs while practicing risk-based thinking and continual improvement.

Job description

Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for design & development of machine automation and vision systems.
• Responsible for automated process & inspection equipment build.
• Provide solutions to Coherent Ipoh transceiver manufacturing process needs.
• Derive continual improvement initiatives.
• Practice risk‑based thinking in planning and execution of tasks.

Job Requirements

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Professional Degree or Master's Degree in Engineering – Electronic, Electrical, Mechatronic/Electromechanical, Computer/Telecommunication or equivalent.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in networking, test process or product transfer.
• Familiar with product development process and proven success in releasing products to production.
• Understand basic test methodologies and be able to interpret/read electronic schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Experience working with fiber‑optic/laser products.
• This role is 100% onsite.
