Job summary

TLM Company is seeking an experienced external auditor to manage a portfolio of engagements from planning through completion. You will allocate work, monitor progress, and ensure high-quality audit work compliant with MPERS and Malaysian statutory requirements.

You will review working papers and financial statements, handle client queries independently with minimal supervision, and guide junior staff while maintaining audit quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of external audit experience.
• Strong knowledge and application of MPERS.
• Good understanding of auditing standards and Malaysian statutory requirements.
• Able to manage audit engagements and resolve queries independently.
• Strong audit review, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Able to supervise and guide audit team members effectively.
• Good time-management and organisational skills for multiple deadlines.
• Able to communicate confidently and professionally with clients.
• Relevant accounting degree and/or professional qualification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of audit engagements from planning through completion.
• Plan and allocate audit assignments to team members based on workload and deadlines.
• Monitor progress of audit jobs and ensure timely completion.
• Review audit working papers, adjustments and financial statements prepared by the team.
• Ensure audits comply with MPERS and statutory requirements.
• Handle audit, accounting and client queries independently with minimal partner supervision.
• Identify audit issues and propose practical solutions before escalation.
• Liaise with clients regarding audit matters and requested documents.
• Review financial statements including disclosures before Partner review.
• Supervise, guide and provide technical support to audit seniors and juniors.
