Job summary

TLM Company is seeking an experienced external auditor to manage a portfolio of engagements from planning through completion. You will allocate work, monitor progress, and ensure high-quality audit work compliant with MPERS and Malaysian statutory requirements.

You will review working papers and financial statements, handle client queries independently with minimal supervision, and guide junior staff while maintaining audit quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of external audit experience.
• Strong knowledge and application of MPERS.
• Good understanding of auditing standards and Malaysian statutory requirements.
• Able to manage audit engagements and resolve queries independently.
• Strong audit review, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Able to supervise and guide audit team members effectively.
• Good time-management and organisational skills for multiple deadlines.
• Able to communicate confidently and professionally with clients.
• Relevant accounting degree and/or professional qualification preferred.

• Plan and allocate audit assignments to team members based on workload and deadlines.
• Monitor the progress of audit jobs and ensure assignments are completed on time.
• Review audit working papers, audit adjustments and financial statements prepared by the audit team.
• Ensure audit engagements are performed in accordance with applicable auditing standards, MPERS and relevant statutory requirements.
• Manage a portfolio of audit engagements from planning through completion

• Monitor the progress of audit jobs and ensure assignments are completed on time
• Review audit working papers, audit adjustments and financial statements prepared by the audit team
• Handle audit, accounting and client queries independently, with minimal supervision from the Partner
• Identify audit issues and propose practical solutions before escalating significant or complex matters to the Partner
• Liaise directly with clients regarding audit matters, outstanding documents, audit adjustments and other queries
• Review financial statements, including presentation and disclosures, before submission for Partner's review
• Supervise, guide and provide technical support to audit seniors and junior team members
• Assist the Partner in maintaining audit quality and improving the efficiency of audit processes

Requirement

• Minimum 5 years of relevant external audit experience
