Job summary

CIMB in Kuala Lumpur seeks a proficient investment analyst to generate and monitor investment ideas using both top-down and bottom-up approaches, and to prepare reports that support model portfolios and structured investments.

You will stay abreast of markets, communicate updates to relationship managers and clients, and work with internal stakeholders to refine asset allocations aligned with house views. CMSRL is required; CFA a plus; strong MS Office and Bloomberg skills are essential.

Qualifications

• CMSRL holder for Investment Advice; CFA will be an added advantage.
• Experience in equity research, technical & quantitative analysis.
• Background in asset management and capital markets.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Produce reports on investment ideas based on top-down and bottom-up analysis, employing qualitative and quantitative methodologies
• Keep abreast of financial markets and company developments through engagements with analysts/company management/industry experts
• Work closely with the relevant teams within the Chief Investment Office to generate ideas for Model Portfolios and Structured Investments
• Assist the Team with preparation of investment publications
• Articulate investment ideas to Relationship Managers and clients via written and verbal channels
• Support Relationship Managers through updates on key market/company developments and house views as well as knowledge-sharing sessions on structured solutions and ETFs
• Review and propose tailored strategies to optimize clients’ investment portfolios, aligned with individual investment goals, house views and recommended asset allocation.

Key Responsibilities *

Professional Qualification and/or Regulatory, Licensing requirements

• CMSRL holder for Investment Advice. CFA will be an added advantage.
• Equity research, technical & quantitaive analysis, asset management, finance and capital markets-related roles.
