Job summary

Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (Diperbadankan) seeks an experienced equity research professional to conduct in-depth fundamental research on small and mid-cap listed companies in Malaysia, develop financial models, perform valuation analyses, and formulate investment recommendations.

You will monitor portfolio holdings, market developments, industry trends, and company performance to identify opportunities and risks, support portfolio construction, and prepare investment papers for governance forums.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth fundamental research and analysis on small and mid-cap listed companies.
• Develop financial models, perform valuation analyses, and formulate investment recommendations.
• Monitor portfolio holdings, market developments, industry trends, and company performance to identify opportunities and risks.
• Support portfolio construction, stock selection, and investment strategy implementation.
• Prepare investment papers, presentations, and reports for management and governance forums.
• Evaluate investment opportunities, including Initial Public Offerings, placements, and other corporate exercises.
• Engage with company management, brokers, analysts, and other market participants to gather investment insights.
• Support trade execution and ensure compliance with approved investment mandates, policies, and guidelines.
• Contribute to research initiatives, system enhancements, and projects that strengthen investment decision-making and portfolio management capabilities.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or any related discipline.
• Four (4) to six (6) years of relevant experience in equity research, equity investments, portfolio management, or any related investment function.
• Strong understanding of financial statement analysis, equity valuation methodologies, and financial modelling.
• Knowledge of equity markets, investment principles, and portfolio management practices.
• Ability to evaluate investment opportunities and communicate recommendations clearly and effectively.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Professional qualifications such as Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or progress towards CFA designation will be an added advantage.
