Job summary

QES Group Of Companies in Selangor, Malaysia is seeking a Senior Assembly Technician to lead mechanical and electrical assembly, testing, installation, and commissioning of machinery for the semiconductor equipment sector. You will work with engineers and technicians, interpret drawings, and ensure quality and on-time delivery. Diploma in engineering and hands-on leadership are preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma or certificate in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronic / Mechatronic Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in machinery assembly and commissioning.
• Experience with automation equipment, semiconductor equipment, or machine building is an advantage.
• Able to read engineering drawings and electrical schematics clearly.
• Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead technicians in assembly, testing, installation, and commissioning of machinery.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues and drive root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate with engineers to support development and modification projects.
• Ensure quality and timely completion in accordance with specifications.
• Maintain documentation and comply with SOPs and safety standards.

In line with our business expansion, we are currently seeking a motivated and experienced candidate to fill up the vacancy of Senior Assembly Technician.

General Responsibilities-

• Lead and supervise technicians in the assembly, testing, installation, and commissioning of machinery and equipment.
• Perform and oversee mechanical and electrical assembly activities according to engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
• Lead the testing and troubleshooting of machines to identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, and technical issues.
• Provide technical guidance and support to technicians during machine assembly, testing, installation, and troubleshooting activities.
• Work closely with engineers to support machine development, modification, improvement, and commissioning activities.
• Ensure machines and equipment are assembled accurately and meet the required quality and performance standards.
• Review and verify assembly work, machine testing results, and inspection activities to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Coordinate with Production, Engineering, Quality, and other relevant departments to ensure smooth and timely completion of projects.
• Monitor work progress and ensure production and assembly activities are completed according to schedule.
• Assist in machine installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting at customer sites when required.
• Identify recurring technical issues and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Train, guide, and mentor junior technicians to improve their technical knowledge and workmanship.
• Ensure proper documentation and records are maintained for assembly, testing, inspection, and troubleshooting activities.
• Ensure all activities comply with company SOPs, safety requirements, quality standards, and ISO requirements.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized production and assembly environment.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve assembly efficiency, product quality, and production processes.
• Any other related tasks assigned by the superior from time to time.

Requirements-

• Certificate/Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in machinery assembly, production, equipment installation, testing, or troubleshooting.
• Candidates with experience in automation equipment, semiconductor equipment, or machine building will have an added advantage.
• Strong hands-on experience in mechanical and/or electrical assembly and troubleshooting.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical drawings, and electrical schematics.
• Familiar with machine installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Experience in leading, supervising, or guiding a team of technicians is an added advantage.
• Good knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including pneumatic and motor-driven systems.
• Good troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Computer literate and familiar with Microsoft Office and relevant technical documentation.
• Self-starter, responsible, well-organized, and highly motivated.
• Able to work independently with minimum supervision and under pressure.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Possess own transport and willing to travel locally/outstation when required.
