Job summary

Kanry Search is hiring an Assembly Technician for a global semiconductor automation company in Pasir Gudang, Johor. You will assemble mechanical, electrical and robotic modules, follow drawings, perform calibrations, and ensure quality and safety in a busy production environment.

The role requires 1–3 years of related experience, a diploma or equivalent in engineering, and good English communication. Rotating shifts apply; join a collaborative team and contribute to continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent in engineering or related field.
• 1–3 years of precision assembly experience preferred.
• Able to read engineering drawings, wiring diagrams and BOMs.
• Effective communication in English and teamwork.
• Safety-conscious and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and robotic modules and sub-assemblies.
• Install components, wiring, and perform calibration and alignment.
• Follow drawings and BOMs, use hand tools and measuring instruments.
• Inspect assemblies for workmanship defects and address issues with senior staff.
• Update progress in shopfloor systems and comply with safety procedures.
• Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement activities.

Our client is a leading global MNC specialising in semiconductor automation, precision robotics and high-technology manufacturing solutions.

The company develops precision automation equipment and systems used by semiconductor equipment manufacturers and fabrication facilities worldwide.

Job Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and robotic modules and sub-assemblies
• Perform component installation, wiring, kitting, equipment setup, alignment and calibration
• Follow engineering drawings, wiring schematics, Operational Method Sheets, work instructions and Bills of Materials
• Use manual and powered hand tools, torque wrenches, gauges and measuring instruments
• Inspect completed assemblies and identify workmanship defects or material non-conformances
• Escalate complex technical or quality issues to senior technicians or engineers
• Update production progress and unit-tracking records accurately in Oracle or shopfloor systems
• Follow cleanroom, Electrostatic Discharge, quality and workplace safety procedures
• Participate in 5S, Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement activities
• Support additional production assignments when required

Requirements

• SPM / SKM / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronics Engineering or a related discipline
• Approximately 1–3 years of relevant precision assembly experience
• Able to interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, electrical schematics and BOMs
• Comfortable using hand tools, torque equipment and basic measuring devices
• Experience in semiconductor equipment, robotics, EMS, medical devices, precision engineering or cleanroom manufacturing is advantageous
• Detail-oriented and committed to maintaining high quality and safety standards
• Able to communicate effectively in English and work collaboratively within a production team
• Candidates with at least six months of service in their current employment may apply

Mandatory Rotating-Shift Requirement

Candidates must be fully flexible to work rotating shifts depending on the assigned product line and production requirements.
