Job summary

Waters in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an experienced Accountant to join the finance team. You will lead close processes, prepare and post journal entries, and maintain general ledger to ensure accurate financial records.

The role involves supporting receivable and payable activities, performing reconciliations, and assisting audits and statutory filings. You will work with cross-functional stakeholders to uphold internal controls and drive process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline.
• Professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) is an advantage but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities within agreed timelines.
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and other accounting adjustments.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records.
• Support accounts receivable and payable processes.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve reconciling items promptly.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and responding to queries.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, statutory requirements, and company policies.
• Assist with statutory filings, tax reporting, and other regulatory compliance activities.
• Monitor accounting transactions to ensure internal controls are followed.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and shared service teams to resolve accounting issues.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.
• Contribute to finance transformation initiatives and system enhancement projects as required.
