Job summary

You will monitor laws, model emissions, and assess alternative fuels while coordinating with regulators, industry groups, and internal teams.

The role emphasizes lifecycle analyses, retrofitting projects, and ensuring alignment with sustainability goals across power generation assets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Power or Mechanical Engineering.
• Master’s degree in business administration or engineering management preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in the electricity supply industry.
• Experience dealing with stakeholders, government officers and regulators is advantageous.
• Good aptitude required for software tools e.g. PSS/E, Thermoflow, PLEXOS etc.

Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor changes to environmental laws and regulations affecting thermal power generation.
• Stay informed about national and international regulatory developments such as carbon pricing & trading and emissions reporting.
• Assess the viability of alternative fuels and hydrogen integration in existing plants.
• Conduct lifecycle cost assessments and emissions modeling for fuel transitions.
• Assist in the development and execution of fuel-transition projects including retrofitting and tech integration.
• Support carbon reduction and energy efficiency goals within national sustainability objectives.
• Analyze long-term impacts of fuel transitions on emissions, compliance and efficiency.
• Engage with regulators, industry groups and external consultants to align with best practices.
• Assist in managing PPAs related to fuel transition and environmental upgrades.
