Job summary

Benchmark Penang seeks an experienced hardware engineer to lead analog and mixed-signal PCBA design from concept through full production for contract manufacturing customers. You will drive signal conditioning, power management, and sensor interfacing, leveraging OrCAD, Allegro, and Altium tools.

The role requires a strong EMC and safety standards background, DFx expertise, and proven root-cause problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical/Electronic Engineering with 5+ years of design experience.
• Expertise in signal conditioning, power electronics, schematic capture, and circuit simulation.
• Strong background in EMC compliance, safety standards, and DFx methods.
• Excellent written and spoken English; willingness to travel internationally.
• Willingness to relocate to Penang.

Responsibilities

Job description

Lead analog and mixed-signal PCBA design from concept to full production for Benchmark Penang's contract manufacturing customers.

Drive signal conditioning, sensor interfacing, filter/amplifier design, ADC/DAC integration, and power management (DC-DC, battery systems).

Conduct SPICE simulations, manage PCB layout guidelines, and utilize ECAD tools (OrCAD, Allegro, Altium).

Enforce DFx best practices, product lifecycle management, DFMEA/PFMEA, DOE, and 8D root-cause failure analysis.

Oversee EMC mitigation, electromagnetic testing, and compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Collaborate with cross-functional manufacturing and engineering teams to guide component selection and regulatory adherence.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical/Electronic Engineering with 5+ years of direct product design experience (PhD candidates with less experience considered).

Expertise in signal conditioning, power electronics, schematic capture, and circuit simulation tools.

Strong background in EMC compliance, safety standards, and structured problem-solving (Lean, DFMEA, 8D).

Excellent written and spoken English skills; willingness to travel internationally when required.

Preferred: Experience in AC-DC design, RF/wireless integration (Wi-Fi, BT, Cellular, GPS), or SI/PI simulation.

Must willing to relocate to Penang.
