Job summary

NTT DATA seeks an Accounting Specialist (Accounts Payable) to join our team in Malaysia, with a hybrid model and partial remote work. The role supports invoice processing, payments, and AP month-end close while ensuring compliance with internal controls and vendor data accuracy.

The Senior Associate Specialist collaborates with AP leadership and cross-functional teams to resolve discrepancies and improve processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in accounts payable or finance operations.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and Excel.
• Experience in shared services or multi-entity environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring proper coding, approvals, and documentation.
• Prepare and support payment runs in accordance with established schedules and controls.
• Perform vendor statement reconciliations and investigate routine discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate AP records, files, and supporting documentation.
• Respond to routine vendor inquiries regarding invoice status and payments.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to resolve invoice discrepancies and approval delays.
• Support accurate maintenance of vendor master data under established control procedures.
• Support AP close activities, including invoice cut-off, accrual support, and reconciliations.
• Prepare routine AP schedules and reports for close and management reporting.
• Assist in resolving variances and reconciling AP balances.
• Execute AP processes in compliance with internal controls, approval frameworks, and company policies.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to routine requests.
• Identify processing errors or exceptions and elevate for review.
• Follow documented AP procedures and SOPs.
• Participate in process improvement and system enhancement initiatives.
• Support testing and adoption of new AP tools or workflow changes.
• Assist in knowledge sharing with Associate Specialists as needed.
