S&P Global in Penang, Malaysia seeks a qualified Accountant to support accounting operations for Malaysia, Indonesia and Taiwan entities. You will manage books, ensure GAAP compliance, and coordinate audits while handling tax reporting and intercompany settlements.

The role requires 5+ years of finance experience, proficiency in Excel, and strong English and Bahasa Malaysia skills, with Oracle ERP experience preferred. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Penang.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience in finance and accounting, including multi-entity or cross-border environments.
• Experience applying US GAAP and local GAAP; knowledge of Malaysian SST and WHT.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, modelling).
• Business-level English and Bahasa Malaysia Proficiency.

Responsabilités

• Maintain books and records for Malaysia, Indonesia and Taiwan entities according to US GAAP and local GAAP.
• Support audit processes for internal and statutory audits; ensure timely completion.
• Handle all direct and indirect tax reporting and compliance per US and local rules.
• Address tax issues (WHT, SST) and tax authority queries.
• Support corporate secretarial reporting and government surveys as needed.
• Oversee cash management including forecasting, funding, and intercompany settlements.
• Ensure local finance processes comply with US and local requirements.
• Liaise with external auditors and tax agents; assist AP as needed.
• Contribute to ad-hoc finance projects as assigned.
