Job summary

S&P Global in Penang, Malaysia, seeks an Accountant to support the Malaysia, Indonesia and Taiwan entities. The role focuses on maintaining books under US GAAP and local GAAP, tax compliance, and cross-border financial processes.

Reporting to the Malaysia Finance Controller, you will participate in audits, manage cash flow, intercompany settlements, and assist AP-related tasks while collaborating with regional teams across APAC to ensure accurate, timely financial reporting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of finance and accounting experience in multi-entity or cross-border setups.
• Experience applying US GAAP and local GAAP; familiarity with Malaysian SST/WHT.
• Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
• Business-level English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Maintain books for Malaysia, Indonesia and Taiwan entities under US GAAP and local GAAP.
• Support internal and statutory audits.
• Handle direct and indirect tax reporting and compliance.
• Address tax issues and queries (WHT, SST).
• Manage corporate secretarial reporting and government surveys where relevant.
• Oversee cash management, including forecasting, funding and intercompany settlements.
• Assist AP activities and participate in ad-hoc finance projects.
