Job summary

S&P Global Malaysia, Inc. and its regional entities seek an Accountant based in Penang to support accounting operations for Malaysia, Indonesia and Taiwan with US GAAP and local GAAP adherence.

You will manage books, participate in audits, handle tax reporting, intercompany settlements, and cash management across APAC entities while ensuring compliance with local requirements and corporate standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in finance and accounting, including cross-border accounting.
• Demonstrated experience applying US GAAP and local GAAP; knowledge of Malaysian SST and WHT compliance.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, modelling).
• Business-level English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Manage books and records for S&P Global Malaysia, Indonesia and Taiwan entities per policies (US GAAP and local GAAP).
• Participate in audits to ensure timely completion (internal and statutory).
• Handle all tax reporting/compliance (direct and indirect; SST and WHT).
• Address tax authority queries and related issues.
• Handle corporate secretarial and statutory reporting including government surveys.
• Manage cash flow forecasting, monitoring, funding, intercompany settlements.
• Ensure local finance processes comply with US and local requirements.
• Liaise with external auditors and tax agents.
• Assist in AP matters.
• Participate in ad-hoc finance projects.
