• 5–6+ years of experience in interior design, interior architecture, renovation, fit-out or architectural projects.
• Strong experience in 2D technical detailing and site execution.
• Excellent understanding of interior architecture, custom cabinetry, carpentry detailing, ceilings, lighting, finishes and construction methods.

Senior 2D Interior Designer (Interior Design & Build)

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior 2D Interior Designer who has a strong passion for technical detailing, interior architecture and construction documentation. This role is fully focused on 2D drawings and technical design development. You will be responsible for ensuring that every drawing issued for construction is clear, coordinated, practical and buildable, while maintaining a high level of design aesthetics and detailing quality. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of professional interior architecture, custom cabinetry, fine furniture detailing, materials, construction methods and visual aesthetics. You will also work closely with 2D Designers Team, providing technical guidance and reviewing their drawings before submission to the Design Lead.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and develop high-quality 2D construction drawings and detailed drawings, providing detailing drawings as per 3D design


• Produce comprehensive drawings for space planning, furniture layouts, ceiling layouts, lighting and electrical coordination, flooring and wall finishes, interior elevations, sections, custom cabinetry, built-in furniture, doors and windows, staircase and feature details, wet works and finishing details


• Translate approved design concepts into accurate and practical construction documentation, ensuring dimensions, levels, materials, finishes and construction details are clearly documented


• Review all 2D drawings before they are issued for site execution to ensure they are complete, coordinated, accurate and buildable


• Identify missing information, drawing clashes and impractical construction details before site commencement


• Ensure drawings are coordinated between architectural, interior, carpentry, electrical, lighting, ceiling, M&E and other relevant works


• Develop technically sound and aesthetically refined interior architecture details with strong attention to proportions, alignment, junctions, material transitions, shadow gaps, reveals, cabinetry detailing, furniture proportions, ceiling details and wall finishes


• Provide practical solutions for technical and construction-related design issues and advise Design and Project teams on materials, detailing methods, construction methods, cabinetry fabrication, finishing solutions and site constraints


• Review drawings prepared by Junior 2D Designers and provide clear technical comments, corrections and guidance on detailing, drawing standards, construction methods, material applications and drawing coordination


• Develop and improve standard technical details for commonly used design elements and establish standard drawing methods, detailing principles and construction references

About you

• 5 – 6+ years of experience in interior design, interior architecture, renovation, fit-out or architectural projects


• Strong preference for candidates on residential landed homes combined with Interior Design experience


• Strong experience in 2D technical detailing and site execution


• Excellent understanding of interior architecture, custom cabinetry, carpentry detailing, fine furniture detailing, ceiling systems, electrical coordination, lighting coordination, flooring and wall finishes, renovation works, extension works, basic structural coordination, materials and construction methods


• Strong AutoCAD technical drawing capability


• Able to produce detailed and construction-ready drawings independently


• Hands-on experience resolving actual site and construction issues


• Excellent knowledge on a wide variety of materials


• Strong understanding of landed residential renovation and fit-out projects is highly preferred


• Ability to explain clearly how a drawing will be constructed on site and understand how materials, cabinetry and architectural details come together physically


• Ability to identify potential site problems before work begins and produce clear and comprehensive construction details
