Job summary

Counterforce Security Services is seeking a dedicated Security Training Officer to own training, competency and compliance for security officers at a major client account.

The role manages the full training cycle—from needs analysis, programme development and delivery to testing, documentation and audit compliance—ensuring officers are properly trained, licensed and ready for duty.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Security Management or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant security training experience.
• Experience with training for large security teams or multinational accounts is a plus.
• Strong understanding of SOPs, post orders and competency requirements.
• Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and documentation.
• Willing to work flexible hours as required.

Job description

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Security Training Officer to join our team and take ownership of the training, competency and compliance of security officers deployed at a major client account.

This is a key operational role responsible for ensuring that every security officer is properly trained, licensed, competent and ready to perform their assigned duties.

The successful candidate will manage the complete training cycle - from training needs analysis, programme development and delivery, to testing, assessment, documentation and audit compliance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Security Training Programme Management

• Develop, implement and maintain an effective security training programme for site security personnel.
• Conduct training needs analysis and continuously improve training programmes and materials.
• Ensure all required initial, refresher, requalification and remedial training is completed within the required timelines.
• Ensure security officers complete all required client/site-specific training before being assigned to operational posts.
• Research and introduce effective and innovative security training methods.

2. Training Delivery & Competency Assessment

• Conduct classroom, on-the-job and practical security training for security officers.
• Develop and conduct written, verbal and scenario-based assessments to evaluate officers' knowledge and competency.
• Train officers on Post Orders, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), emergency procedures and site-specific requirements.
• Conduct practical assessments and testing of security procedures and equipment where required.
• Conduct Metal Detector (MD) training and testing and ensure proper documentation of results
• Conduct periodic audits of training records and ensure documentation accuracy
• Conduct post inspections to verify that officers are applying training and SOP requirements correctly.
• Identify competency gaps and arrange appropriate remedial training.

3. Training Records & Compliance

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date training records for all security officers.
• Monitor training attendance, assessment results, pass/fail rates, refresher training and certification validity.
• Monitor relevant security licensing and certification requirements to ensure officers remain compliant.
• Conduct periodic audits of training records and promptly rectify any deficiencies.
• Ensure training documentation is complete, properly maintained and readily available for client and management audits.

4. Operational Support

• Work closely with the Site Security Manager, Operations Team and client representatives on training and competency requirements.
• Respond to officers' questions and ensure proper understanding of procedures and operational requirements.
• Liaise with relevant internal teams and external training providers to obtain appropriate & updated training materials and resources.
• Prepare training reports, compliance reports and management updates when required.

REQUIREMENTS

• Diploma or Degree in Security Management, Training & Development, Human Resources, Business Administration or a related discipline will be an advantage.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in security training, security operations, training administration or a similar role.
• Experience in the security guarding industry is highly preferred.
• Candidates with experience managing training for large security teams or multinational corporate accounts will have an added advantage.
• Strong understanding of security operations, SOPs, post orders and security officer competency requirements.
• Good presentation, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organisational and documentation skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Able to conduct practical assessments, inspections and remedial training.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
• Able to work independently and manage multiple training requirements and deadlines.
• Willing to work flexible hours when operational or training requirements arise.
• Valid Malaysian security-related training / competency certifications will be an advantage.
