Job summary

SNP Group is seeking a skilled SAP ABAP Consultant to join our team in Malaysia. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in SAP Data Migration, including developing custom ABAP programs for loading and migrating data across SAP modules, with expertise in building custom applications, reports, interfaces, and enhancements.

The role requires 5+ years of ABAP consulting experience, proficiency in HANA ABAP, CDS views, IDocs, and cross-module integration.

What we’re looking for

We are seeking a skilled SAP ABAP Consultant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in SAP Data Migration, including developing custom ABAP programs for loading and migrating data across various SAP Modules, with expertise in building custom applications, reports, interfaces, and enhancements. As an SAP ABAP Consultant, you will be responsible for the technical design, development, and support of SAP solutions that align with business processes across various SAP modules.

Responsibilities

• Custom Development & Enhancement: Design, develop, and implement custom ABAP programs, SmartForms, SAP Scripts, ALV reports, and enhancements using User Exits, BADI, and BAPI to meet business needs.
• RICEFW Objects: Deliver and maintain Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, and Workflows based on functional specifications.
• Technical Support: Provide ongoing technical support for existing ABAP applications and troubleshoot performance or functional issues.
• Cross-Module Integration: Collaborate with functional teams (FI, CO, SD, MM, PP, PM, and others) to ensure smooth integration between ABAP programs and business processes.
• System Upgrades & Patch Management: Analyze the impact of SAP upgrades and patches on custom developments and provide necessary adjustments.
• IDoc & Interface Management: Work extensively with IDocs, EDI, RFCs, and other integration tools to ensure reliable data exchange between systems.
• Documentation: Prepare technical documentation including Technical Specification Documents (TSD), user guides, and test scripts.
• Testing & Quality Assurance: Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and support UAT activities to validate ABAP developments.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest ABAP and SAP S/4HANA advancements and recommend enhancements for better system performance.

Qualifications

We are looking for a highly qualified candidate who meets the following criteria:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. SAP certification in ABAP or related technologies is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an SAP ABAP Consultan t or similar role.
• Functional knowledge of SAP MM and/or SD business processes will be an added advantage.
• Proven experience in custom development, performance tuning, and debugging within the SAP ERP environment.
• Experience with at least two full-cycle SAP implementations.
• Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in classic ABAP, OO-ABAP, SmartForms, SAP Scripts, ALV, BAPI, BADI, IDocs, LSMW, BDC, and enhancement techniques.
• HANA & Modern ABAP: Familiarity with ABAP on HANA, CDS Views, AMDP, and Fiori integration is a strong advantage.
• Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical skills to resolve complex technical issues quickly and efficiently.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with both business and technical stakeholders.
• Project Management: Ability to handle multiple development tasks and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Team Collaboration: Ability to work both independently and within a collaborative team setting.
