Job Summary

The Sales Manager is responsible for generating sales of Volvo Construction Equipment machinery by identifying prospects, developing strong customer relationships, and providing tailored equipment solutions to meet business needs. The role focuses on achieving sales targets, expanding market presence, and ensuring customer satisfaction through effective product knowledge, consultative selling, and after-sales follow-up. This position plays a key role in representing Volvo CE’s brand values of quality, safety, and sustainability in every customer interaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Market and promote Volvo CE’s range of construction equipment across one of the four regions in Peninsular Malaysia.
  • Grow Volvo CE’s market share in key sectors such as road machinery, quarry, and mining.
  • Manage and service existing clients while actively penetrating new markets to secure new customers.
  • Take ownership of orders and sales targets, ensuring consistent achievement of business objectives.
  • Provide technical guidance by assisting customers in selecting the most suitable equipment configurations and solutions based on their operational needs.
  • Build and maintain strong strategic relationships at all levels within customer organizations.
  • Utilize Volvo CE’s internal tools to prepare accurate weekly sales forecasts and business reports.
  • Ensure timely follow-up on receivables in line with company policies
  • Collaborate with the dealer’s aftermarket management to align Volvo CE’s positioning, strategy, KPIs, and agreed Customer Support Agreements (CSA).
  • Work closely with aftermarket and dealer sales teams to integrate CSA offerings as a key part of machine sales activities.
Education/Professional Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related fields from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum 8 years of sales experience, with at least 3 years in the Construction Equipment (CE) or a related industry.
  • Preferably equipped with technical knowledge in CE.
  • Strong analytical skills with a solid understanding of B2B practices.
  • Customer-focused with strong relationship-building and networking abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to converse in Chinese dialects.
  • Commercially minded, business-focused, and target-driven.
  • A collaborative team player who can work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Resilient and able to perform under the pressures of a demanding industry.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
