Job summary

Giftmate Sdn Bhd is looking for a friendly retail sales assistant to join our store in Malaysia. You will welcome customers, answer product questions, and assist with purchases.

The role requires 1–2 years in retail or customer service, fluency in English and Mandarin, and a positive, customer-focused attitude. Weekend and public holiday shifts are included.

You will handle promotions, manage cashier duties, stock replenishment, and maintain attractive product displays to drive sales.

Qualifications

• Minimum SPM, Diploma, or equivalent qualification.
• 1–2 years of retail sales or customer service experience.
• Able to communicate effectively in English and Mandarin to assist Mandarin-speaking customers.
• Friendly, approachable and customer-focused.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Sales-driven with a positive attitude towards achieving targets.
• Experience in cashiering, stock handling or retail operations advantageous.
• Previous retail industry experience advantageous.
• Willing to work retail hours, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and assist customers with product enquiries, recommendations and purchases.
• Provide excellent customer service and ensure a positive shopping experience.
• Introduce products, promotions and ongoing campaigns to customers.
• Support the team in achieving daily and monthly store sales targets.
• Process payments and handle cashier transactions accurately.
• Replenish stock and ensure products are properly organised and displayed.
• Assist with receiving, checking and managing incoming stock.
• Maintain attractive product displays according to brand guidelines.
• Build good relationships with customers and encourage repeat purchases.
• Maintain store cleanliness and support smooth day-to-day store operations.
