Job summary

Al-Futtaim's M&S in Malaysia seeks a Sales Advisor to deliver outstanding customer service, apply expert product knowledge, and engage proactively with shoppers.

You will operate tills, manage merchandise, replenish stock, and follow safety and loss-prevention procedures while supporting management with ad hoc duties.

Flexible shifts, weekends and public holidays are required; fluency in English is expected to provide excellent service.

• Operate tills with accurate cash handling and POS procedures.
• Prevent pilferage and minimize stock loss on sales floor and back of house.
• Maintain safety and hygiene on the sales floor and in back of house areas.
• Perform ad-hoc duties as required by management.

What You Will Do:

Customer Service

• Provide high standards of customer service as per M&S Way, including principles like being all in for the customer, making every penny count, talking straight, and owning the task to completion.
• Ensure that customers are comfortable, welcome, and courteously served.

Selling

• Achieve sales through effective salesmanship and offer excellent product information and styling advice.
• Communicate seasonal highlights and promotion mechanics to customers to drive sales.
• Handle and display merchandise according to seasonal guidelines and food planograms in an attractive manner.
• Engage in product knowledge training and briefings to deepen understanding and enhance customer interactions.
• Ensure efficient replenishment to minimize lost sales opportunities.
• Provide feedback to superiors on customer comments and contribute ideas to improve sales.

Merchandise Management

• Administer accurate stock movements, such as delivery checks and stock transfers.
• Count merchandise and complete administrative tasks efficiently and accurately.
• Report immediately to superiors on stock shortages.

Job Knowledge

• Operate the till with correct procedures, ensuring high efficiency and accuracy in handling cash and credit cards.
• Utilize product knowledge to suggest items and promote benefits to customers to drive sales.

Cost Control

• Stay alert to prevent pilferage and stock loss on the sales floor and in fitting rooms, and report any cases to management.
• Mindfully use company property assets to avoid wastage of resources.

Health & Safety

• Maintain a strong safety consciousness.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations.
• Ensure a safe and hygienic environment in both the sales floor and back of house areas.
