Job summary

Tech-Store Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking a qualified and proactive Safety & Health Officer to implement, monitor, and continually improve OSH practices across project sites and workplaces to ensure statutory and company compliance.

The SHO will lead inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety trainings while supporting ISO 45001/14001 and fostering a strong safety culture throughout operations.

Qualifications

• Registered SHO with DOSH/JKKP.
• Green Book holder is required.
• Strong knowledge of OSH regulations and compliance requirements.
• Experience in risk assessment, hazard identification, and accident investigation.
• Willing to travel to project sites.
• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in OSH, Environmental Management, Engineering, or related field.
• Additional professional safety certifications are a plus.
• Relevant experience in construction, engineering, telecoms, infrastructure, utilities, or project-based environments.

Responsibilities

• Ensure OSH compliance with legislation, regulations, and company safety policies.
• Conduct regular inspections, audits, hazard identifications, and risk assessments.
• Monitor PPE usage and fire safety requirements.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and injuries.
• Prepare safety reports and recommend corrective actions.
• Organise safety inductions, toolbox talks, and safety briefings.
• Maintain OSH records, inspection and incident reports, risk assessments, and documentation.
• Liaise with DOSH, clients, contractors, consultants, and project teams on safety matters.
• Support ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 implementation and audits.
• Monitor contractor safety performance and compliance.
• Coordinate Safety & Health Committee meetings and follow up actions.
• Foster a positive safety culture and continuous improvement.

Job description

TECH-STORE Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a qualified and proactive Safety & Health Officer (SHO) to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and continuously improving Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) practices across our project sites and workplace facilities to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) legislation, regulations, and company safety policies.
• Conduct regular workplace and project site inspections, audits, hazard identification, and risk assessments.
• Monitor and enforce safe work practices, PPE usage, and fire safety requirements.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, occupational injuries, and dangerous occurrences.
• Prepare safety reports and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Organise and conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, safety briefings, and awareness programmes.
• Maintain OSH records, inspection reports, incident reports, risk assessments, and statutory documentation.
• Liaise with DOSH, clients, contractors, consultants, and project teams on Safety & Health matters.
• Support ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 implementation, audits, corrective actions, and continual improvement initiatives.
• Monitor contractor compliance and project site safety performance.
• Coordinate Safety & Health Committee meetings and follow up on action items.
• Support management in driving a positive safety culture and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Registered Safety & Health Officer with DOSH/JKKP
• Valid Green Book Holder
• Good knowledge of Occupational Safety & Health regulations and statutory compliance requirements
• Strong understanding of risk assessment, hazard identification, and accident investigation
• Willing to travel and work at project sites
• Able to work flexible hours when necessary to support project operations
• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Additional professional certifications related to safety management will be an added advantage.
• Relevant experience as a Safety & Health Officer in construction, engineering, telecommunications, infrastructure, utilities, or project-based environments.
• Experience handling DOSH compliance matters and conducting safety inspections is preferred
