We are looking for an experienced Team Lead, Record-to-Report (RTR) to lead a team within the finance shared services / Global Business Services (GBS) environment. The role will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day RTR operations, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of accounting activities while driving team performance, process improvements and strong stakeholder relationships.
- Oversee end-to-end Record-to-Report / General Ledger activities, ensuring accurate and timely month-end and year-end closing.
- Manage Balance Sheet reconciliations, including review of reconciling items, ageing and timely resolution of outstanding balances.
- Oversee Fixed Asset accounting, including asset additions, disposals, transfers, depreciation and depreciation-related adjustments.
- Oversee prepayments, accruals, journal entries and other accounting adjustments, ensuring compliance with accounting policies and internal controls.
- Partner with Finance, Controllership and other stakeholders to resolve complex accounting issues and drive process improvements, standardisation and automation.
- Drive strong people management, including coaching, performance management, succession planning and building a high-performing RTR team.
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, with a professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CPA or CIMA being an advantage.
- 4-10 years of relevant accounting / RTR / GL experience, preferably within a Shared Services or GBS environment.
- Proven experience in people management, ideally leading a team of 10+ members.
- Strong technical knowledge across General Ledger, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Fixed Assets, prepayments and depreciation.
- Good understanding of month-end closing, financial controls and accounting processes.
- Strong leadership, coaching and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage performance and develop team members.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to process improvement and operational efficiency.
