Job summary

Businesslist in Kuala Lumpur seeks an experienced RTR professional to manage end-to-end record-to-report for multiple entities in a GBS setup. You will oversee GL, journals, accruals, fixed assets and intercompany entries, driving accurate month-/quarter-/year-end closings.

The role requires IFRS/local GAAP knowledge, audit support, and collaboration with regional teams. Hybrid work and exposure to a migration project are offered.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end Record-to-Report (RTR) operations for multiple entities in a GBS environment.

• Drive process improvements, standardization and automation within RTR.

Job description

• Manage end-to-end Record-to-Report (RTR) operations for multiple entities within a Global Business Services (GBS) environment.
• Oversee general ledger accounting, journal entries, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, and intercompany transactions.
• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, ensuring adherence to reporting timelines.
• Review and approve balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
• Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and variance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, local GAAP, corporate policies, and internal control requirements.
• Support internal and external audit activities and address audit findings promptly.
• Partner with Regional Finance, Business Controllers, Tax, Treasury, and other stakeholders on accounting matters.
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies, reporting issues, and balance sheet ageing items.
• Drive continuous process improvements, standardization, and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency.
• Monitor and achieve agreed service levels (SLAs), KPIs, and operational targets.
• Participate in transition, migration, and finance transformation projects.
• Ensure proper documentation and maintenance of RTR processes, SOPs, and control frameworks.
• Lead, coach, and develop RTR team members to drive performance and career growth.
• Manage workload planning, resource allocation, and team performance reviews.
• Act as the key escalation point for complex accounting and operational issues.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to support business growth, compliance, and operational excellence.
• Utilize ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics to manage financial transactions and reporting.
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement, customer service excellence, and strong governance across the RTR function.
