Job summary

Excelsior Expert Sdn. Bhd. seeks a skilled Rotating Equipment Technician to support maintenance, repair, overhaul, installation and commissioning of rotating equipment across oil & gas, petrochemical, power and industrial sectors.

You will join a technical team working on site maintenance, shutdowns, workshop repair and equipment overhaul. The role requires hands-on mechanical fitting, alignment, hydraulic and basic electrical tasks, with emphasis on safety and quality in demanding environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in rotating equipment maintenance, fitting or overhaul.
• Experience with pumps, motors, gearboxes or similar rotating equipment.
• Able to read basic mechanical drawings and equipment documentation.
• Willing to work at client sites, shutdowns and workshops; overtime on schedule.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation, dismantling, inspection and overhaul of rotating equipment.
• Carry out mechanical fitting, assembly, disassembly and troubleshooting.
• Conduct alignment using dial gauge and laser methods.
• Replace bearings, seals, couplings and other rotating components.
• Operate basic workshop machines and perform basic machining and inspection.
• Provide basic hydraulic maintenance and electrical support under supervision.
• Assist with testing, commissioning, troubleshooting and condition inspection.

Job description

Excelsior Expert Sdn. Bhd. is looking for a skilled and reliable Rotating Equipment Technician / Multi-Skilled Technician to support maintenance, repair, overhaul, installation and commissioning activities for rotating equipment in the oil & gas, petrochemical, power and industrial sectors. The successful candidate will work as part of a technical team and may be involved in site maintenance, shutdown/turnaround, workshop repair and equipment overhaul activities.

Key responsibilities

Perform installation, dismantling, inspection, maintenance and overhaul of rotating equipment such as pumps, compressors, fans, mixers, gearboxes and motors.

Carry out mechanical fitting, assembly, disassembly and troubleshooting activities.

Perform shaft, sleeve, bush, coupling and other mechanical component inspection and repair.

Carry out precision alignment using dial gauge, laser alignment and other measuring equipment.

Perform bearing, mechanical seal, coupling and other rotating equipment component replacement.

Operate basic workshop machinery such as lathe, milling machine, drilling machine and grinding equipment where required.

Carry out basic machining, polishing, fitting and dimensional inspection of mechanical components.

Perform hydraulic equipment maintenance, hydraulic pressure testing and hydraulic torque/tensioning activities.

Provide basic electrical support for motors and rotating equipment, including motor installation, inspection and solo-run activities under competent electrical personnel.

Assist with equipment testing, commissioning, troubleshooting and condition inspection.

About you

Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in rotating equipment maintenance, mechanical fitting, machinery overhaul or industrial maintenance.

Experience with pumps, motors, compressors, fans, gearboxes or similar rotating equipment.

Knowledge of mechanical fitting, alignment and basic machining is an advantage.

Experience in hydraulic tools/equipment is an advantage.

Basic electrical knowledge for motor-related work is an advantage.

Able to read basic mechanical drawings and equipment documentation.

Able to use measuring and precision tools such as vernier caliper, micrometer, dial gauge and torque wrench.

Willing to work at client sites, shutdown/turnaround projects and workshop environments.

Able to work overtime, weekends and public holidays when required by project schedule.

Good teamwork, discipline and willingness to learn.
