Job summary

Comet Plasma Control Technologies, Penang site, seeks a Failure Analysis Engineer to perform root-cause investigations on RF subsystems and lead improvements. You will test RF hardware, analyze results, and prepare detailed reports for stakeholders and customers.

You will collaborate with Design, Manufacturing and Quality teams to improve yield and reliability while supporting field-return investigations and customer escalations.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of relevant experience in RF/electronics engineering.
• Strong knowledge of RF systems, high-power electronics, failure analysis and quality methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with RF test equipment and diagnostic tools.
• Proficiency with MATLAB, Python, LTSpice, ADS, Minitab, JMP; SAP/manufacturing systems a plus.
• Excellent analytical, communication and problem-solving skills in a global, cross-functional setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform failure analysis, troubleshooting, and root cause investigations on RF subsystems, including RF Match Boxes, RF Generators, and related high-power RF products.
• Conduct electrical and RF testing using advanced diagnostic equipment, analyze results, and provide technical recommendations for CAPA.
• Collaborate with Design, Manufacturing, Quality, and Field Service teams to resolve product issues, improve production yield, and enhance product reliability.
• Prepare technical failure analysis reports, present findings to stakeholders and customers, and support customer escalations and field-return investigations.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying failure trends, implementing process improvements, and sharing best practices across engineering teams.
