Job summary

Comet AG, based in Switzerland, seeks a Failure Analysis Engineer for its Plasma Control Technologies division in Penang. The role focuses on RF subsystems, conducting advanced testing, and driving CAPA across design, manufacturing, and field service teams.

The candidate will analyze results, report findings, and contribute to improvements that enhance product reliability for memory chips and sensors. A strong RF background and 3–5 years’ experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronic/Mechatronics engineering.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in RF systems and failure analysis.
• Solid knowledge of quality methodologies (8D, 5 Whys, FMEA, FTA).
• Hands-on use of RF test equipment and diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform failure analysis, troubleshooting, and root-cause investigations on RF subsystems (RF Match Boxes, RF Generators, high-power RF products).
• Conduct electrical/RF testing, analyze results, and propose corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
• Collaborate with Design, Manufacturing, Quality, and Field Service to resolve issues and improve yield and reliability.
• Prepare technical failure analysis reports and present findings to stakeholders; support escalations and field returns.
• Drive continuous improvement by identifying failure trends and implementing process improvements.
