Job summary

3cat is hiring a Retail Associate in Kuala Lumpur to greet customers, help them find the right products and build confidence in purchasing secondhand tech. You will support daily store operations, stock updates, pricing, and online selling activities while meeting sales targets.

No tech expertise required at start, but interest in smartphones and electronics helps. Fresh graduates welcome; weekends and public holidays hours apply.

Qualifications

• Minimum SPM qualification or equivalent.

• Experience in retail is an advantage, but not required.

Job description

As a Retail Associate, you'll be one of the first people our customers meet when they visit 3cat.

You'll help customers find the right products, answer their questions and make sure they feel confident about buying secondhand tech from us.

You'll also support the day-to-day running of the store, from keeping products organised and up to date to supporting sales, stock and online selling activities.

You'll take ownership of:

• Customer Experience: Greet customers, understand what they're looking for and recommend suitable products.
• Product Knowledge: Clearly explain product features, pricing, warranty, promotions and basic store policies.
• Sales: Support daily, weekly and monthly sales targets through active customer engagement, upselling and cross-selling where relevant.
• Livestream & Social Selling: Support livestream sessions, showcase products, answer basic customer questions and assist with simple social media content when needed.
• Store Standards: Make sure products are properly displayed, labelled and priced, and keep the store clean, organised and ready for customers.
• Stock & Operations: Support stock receiving, product checking, tagging, inventory updates and daily opening or closing activities.
• Store SOPs: Follow the required processes for product handling, sales transactions, cash handling and customer service.
• Team Support: Work closely with the Store Manager and team, and support campaigns, promotions, roadshows and other retail activities when required.

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who enjoys working with people, is willing to learn and is comfortable working in a fast-moving retail environment.

You don't need to be a tech expert from day one, but an interest in smartphones, gadgets or electronics will definitely help.

We're looking for someone who:

• Has a minimum SPM qualification or equivalent.
• Communicates well and is comfortable speaking with customers.
• Is friendly, responsible, punctual and customer-focused.
• Is comfortable working towards sales targets.
• Is willing to learn about our products, promotions and store processes.
• Is comfortable supporting livestreams, product showcasing and basic online customer engagement.
• Can work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays.
• Can follow store SOPs, grooming standards and attendance requirements.
• Works well with others and is willing to support the team when needed.

Experience in retail, sales, customer service, telco, electronics or gadget retail is an advantage, but not a must.
