Job summary

Meili Resort Hotel Sdn Bhd in Semporna, Sabah, seeks a Sales & Marketing professional to identify and grow business opportunities that boost room sales and occupancy. You will promote the resort’s facilities, build agency and corporate partnerships, and drive revenue through strategic initiatives.

The role requires 2–3 years in sales within hospitality, strong communication and negotiation abilities, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. You will be based in Semporna with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Sales & Marketing, Business Administration, Hospitality Management or related field.
• Minimum 2-3 years of working experience in sales, preferably within the hotel, resort, tourism or hospitality industry.
• Experience in handling travel agencies, tour operators, corporate accounts and group bookings will be an advantage.
• Strong communication, negotiation, presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Good understanding of sales strategies, customer relationship management and business development.
• Self-motivated, target-driven and able to work independently.
• Able to develop and maintain strong business relationships with clients and business partners.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Able to communicate effectively in Bahasa Malaysia and English. Chinese (Mandarin) speaking, reading and writing abilities will be highly preferred.
• Willing to travel for sales visits, business meetings and promotional activities when required.
• Willing to be based in Semporna, Sabah.

Responsibilities

• Identify, develop and maintain new business opportunities to increase room sales, revenue and overall resort occupancy.
• Promote the resort's accommodation, facilities, dining outlets, recreational activities, dive packages and other services to potential clients.
• Establish and maintain strong business relationships with travel agencies, tour operators, corporate clients, government agencies and other business partners.
• Proactively approach potential clients through sales calls, emails, business visits, networking and other sales activities.
• Handle sales enquiries, prepare quotations, negotiate rates and follow up on potential business opportunities.
• Develop and execute sales strategies and promotional activities to achieve assigned sales targets and revenue objectives.
• Assist in developing attractive room packages, seasonal promotions, corporate packages and group booking offers.
• Coordinate with the Reservations, Front Office, Marketing and Operations teams to ensure smooth handling of bookings and client requirements.
• Conduct sales presentations, familiarisation trips, site inspections and resort tours for prospective clients and business partners.
• Attend trade shows, travel fairs, networking events and industry-related activities to promote the resort.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, customer preferences and industry developments to identify new business opportunities.
• Maintain accurate sales records, client databases, sales pipelines and follow-up reports.
• Prepare weekly and monthly sales performance reports for Management.
• Follow up with existing clients to encourage repeat business and maintain long-term partnerships.
• Ensure all sales activities, quotations and agreements comply with the resort's approved pricing policies and procedures.
• Perform other sales and business development duties as assigned by Management.
