Job summary

DSCO Group Sdn Bhd is seeking a qualified Resident Engineer for M&E building services to oversee site works at Nusajaya, Johor Bahru, with responsibility for progress reporting, compliance and liaising with consultants.

The role requires a degree or diploma in engineering, at least 5 years' RE experience in M&E, and knowledge of Building Regulations and codes; strong problem-solving, time management and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years' relevant experience as RE in M&E.
• Experience with data centre projects preferred.
• Knowledge of Building Regulations and codes required.
• Self-motivated, team player with proactive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Oversee effective site works for all M&E and prepare progress reports.
• Act as the contact point for M&E consultants on site.
• Represent M&E consultants to ensure works follow design, tender, and approvals.
• Coordinate with M&E subcontractors and ensure quality inspections.
• Monitor M&E work progress per drawings and schedule.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, authorities and other parties.
• Oversee field activities, coordinate inspection schedules of M&E RTOs.
• Highlight installation and testing issues to M&E Consultant.

Job description

The contract is for the project in Nusajaya, Johor Bahru.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for effective project implementation of the site works for all M&E work and for the preparation of necessary reports of M&E progress and compliance issues encountered at site.
• Act as a point of contact for M&E consultants on matters related to site works
• Represent M&E consultants in ensuring M&E works carried out at site are in accordance to design, tender, approved shop drawings, approved material, approved Method Statement and any instruction from the M&E consultants through liaison with contractors and suppliers at site.
• Coordinate with M&E subcontractors on site work and ensure quality works through quality inspection.
• To monitor M&E work progress per construction drawing and work schedule.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, SHO, visiting authority and all relevant parties involved in the project.
• Oversee field site activities, coordinate work and inspection schedule of M&E RTOs (Clerk-of-works)
• Highlight site installation and testing issues to M&E Consultant.

Qualifications

• Degree/Diploma in engineering in related field or other equivalent recognized qualifications.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as RE in M&E building services preferably with working experience in Data Centre projects.
• Understanding and application of Building Regulations, Codes of Practice and other requirements.
• Self-motivated, pro-active and team player with positive work attitude.
• Time management aptitude and the ability to solve complex problems.
