Job summary

WCT Land in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Senior Site Engineer to supervise and coordinate construction activities on site, ensuring compliance with drawings, specs and safety standards.

You will liaise with consultants, main contractors and suppliers, review shop drawings and progress against the schedule, and maintain quality through rigorous inspections and documentation. This role requires full-time on-site work and strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant site experience, preferably on high-rise or commercial projects.
• Registered as Professional Engineer (Ir.) / Board of Engineers Malaysia is an advantage.
• Willing to be based full-time at the project site.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor daily construction activities on site.
• Ensure construction works comply with approved drawings, specifications, method statements and relevant standards.
• Coordinate with consultants, main contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and relevant authorities.
• Review and monitor construction progress against the approved project schedule.
• Inspect workmanship, materials and completed works to ensure required quality standards are achieved.
• Identify and resolve technical issues and site problems in coordination with the relevant consultants and contractors.
• Review shop drawings, technical submissions, method statements and material submissions where required.
• Monitor testing, inspection and commissioning activities.
• Attend site meetings and provide updates on project progress, technical matters and site issues.
• Maintain proper site records, inspection reports, progress reports and other project documentation.
• Monitor compliance with safety, environmental and regulatory requirements.
• Assist in coordinating authority inspections, approvals and statutory requirements.
• Verify completed works and assist with progress claims, variations and related technical documentation.
• Ensure defects are properly rectified and assist with final inspection and handover activities.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant site experience, preferably in high-rise, commercial, mixed-development or shoplot projects.
• Experience working as a Resident Engineer, Site Engineer, Project Engineer or similar role.
• Good knowledge of construction methods, structural works, architectural works, M&E coordination and site supervision.
• Strong coordination, communication, problem-solving, and site management skills.
• Able to work independently and make sound technical decisions on site.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of AutoCAD and/or relevant construction software is an advantage.
• Professional Engineer (Ir.) / Board of Engineers Malaysia registration is an advantage, where applicable.
• Willing to be based full-time at the project site.
